Regular biomass boiler servicing and cleaning is crucial in ensuring that your boiler remains in good operational order. If you are receiving Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) payments one of the requirements is that you should have your biomass boiler or heat pump “maintained in-line with the manufacturer’s warranty”. This is usually a minimum of twice a year. All of our engineers follow stringent MCS regulations as well as the manufacturers’ guidelines to ensure that all of our work keeps your manufacturer’s warranty and RHI payments intact.
We often attend one-off emergency breakdown visits where we find problems that could have been avoided with the correct system maintenance. Resolving minor issues at an early stage can help prevent future breakdowns, increasing the longevity of your boiler and resulting in increased cost savings over the boiler’s lifetime.
There are a range of different operations that are included in our biomass boiler servicing and maintenance procedures. The nature of the operation of a biomass boiler means that there will be a constant build-up of ash and burnt debris throughout the system. We are able to carry out a full cleaning programme including the combustion chamber, heat exchangers and flue gas turbulators. We will also carry out inspections of the fuel feed system and boiler ancillaries, taking appropriate action where required. An alarm log check ensures that we can pick up any potential problems at an early stage and take steps to prevent them deteriorating further. As well as the aforementioned checks we will ensure that your system has had any system-specific maintenance completed in order to leave your system performing at optimal efficiency.
Biomass Boiler Maintenance contracts
In order to tailor our service to your requirements, we offer four levels of cover:
Our basic bi-annual service meets the biomass boiler servicing standards required for manufacturers’ recommendations as required for the RHI. Telephone support is available during normal office hours.
As for Bronze, with reduced call out charges for breakdowns that require on-site assistance. This is our most popular level of cover.
As for Silver, with emergency telephone support 24/7, 365 days a year. This includes on-site assistance in emergency cases, if necessary.
Our premier service level, designed on a case-by-case basis to meet the full requirement of a “one stop shop” mechanical, hydraulic and electrical maintenance.
Please contact us to enquire about any of our levels of service. We are able to recommend the level of cover that is best suited to you as costs are dependent on the condition and complexity of your biomass system. The platinum level of service requires an inspection visit in order to prepare a quote.
